Mitch O’Farrell for Los Angeles City Council
Robert Kaplan Company was retained by Independent Expenditure Committees to raise funds, develop a targeted list of voters and design all the direct mail pieces for the election and re-election campaigns of Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell.
Former City Council staffer Mitch O’Farrell ran to replace his boss, Councilmember Eric Garcetti, who was termed out and running for Mayor. O’Farrell’s main opponent was the beneficiary of aggressive and well-funded Independent Expenditure efforts. His opponent in his election campaign was a recent resident of the district, having moved there at the urging of others to run to replace Councilmember Garcetti. Four years later O’Farrell’s re-election campaign was again faced with opposition that was well funded by special interest groups.
The mail designed by Robert Kaplan Company was widely credited with giving O’Farrell the extra push to prevail in both elections.
